Apple strategy? Yes, thank you

Yesterday I read an article about Apple published on Business Week. Peter Burrow perfectly defined Apple strategy in this way: “Focus on making the best product, and rewards will follow”. I think it’s a great and simple way to approach the market. It’s all there. Everything else is bullshit: Apple make wonderful hardware and software products. They know how to merge simplicity with stylish design and user experience. We try to make the same thing, knowing very well we are not Apple. We are 5 persons building Web Applications trying to be paranoid about how users feel when they use our stuff.

Apple and Ruby with their style inspire us and bring us to make our best. Believe me, it works.

This will be also our mantra for the years to come:

Focus on making the best product, and rewords will come

I think Apple provides best products. It does not matter are you speaking about iPhone or about Mac OS or any other product. It makes best solutions in the world.

I believe that the reason Apple can apply such a principle is because they already have a user base, a distribution channel and a company infrastructure which makes it possible for them to focus almost entirely on product development, at least some of them can.

In my opinion the point is that too often business people and firms do not understand that without an excellent product - and commitment to make it the best - everything else is useless: do not start spending big money without an excellent product. This is mandatory for start ups. Apple began making excellent products 30 years ago as a little start up. At that time Apple didn't have distribution channels and infrastructure. They only made excellent products.
